Day 8 – Create a logo for your business

Now it’s time to up your brand quality and make your online business more professional by adding a logo to your website! By the time you finish this module you will have a high quality logo put on your website. A quality logo can give your brand and website a professional touch. By the time you finish this module you should have a logo created for your business.

 

Depending on your ability to create graphics will determine how you create your online business logo. There are a number of ways to get a logo for your online business. One of the easiest ways is to outsource the creation of your logo if it fits in your budget.

 

There are many services out there you can outsource it to. Here are a few to get you started:

Each of these sites have a range of different prices and quality when it comes to logo design. If you are looking for something simple you can always go the cheaper route and then upgrade your logo in the future as your online business gets more established.

 

Another way to create a logo is the ?do it yourself? option. There are many logo templates you can find online that allow you to edit them with a program like photoshop. When searching there you will see a lot of logo templates like the ones below:

 

Another do it yourself option is to use a software tool such as canva to create the graphics. Canva is a free software tool for creating all kinds of graphics. They also have a paid version for more options.

 

Inside Canva you will see that they have logo templates that you can load and edit for your business. Here are some examples of the canva templates:

When choosing a business logo there are a few things to keep in mind:

 

  1. Find a font and color scheme that give the feel your business provides. Your logo should be a visual representation of your business. Some logos, colors and fonts have a different feel to them. For example, some feel elegant, some feel feminine, some feel futuristic, etc.
  2. Try to make it memorable

Choose the method you will use to create your logo and get your logo created. Once it is created you can go back into your WordPress installation and update the logo on your website.

 

Each WordPress theme has a different way to add the logo. Refer to your theme documentation to update your logo in WordPress.
