Y2k. The moment when we feared that everything in the world would come crashing down because all the computers weren’t prepared to shift from 1999 to 2000.
The media loves to dig into the fear so all they talked about was all the catastrophes that were going to happen at midnight, on January 1st, 2000.
The banks were going to lose track of all our money because it is all digital, so there is going to be a banking collapse!
The street lights all run on computers so they are all going to stop working and there will be car crashes and chaos in the streets.
FEAR FEAR FEAR!!!
Well, I didn’t really believe all that, but, just to be safe, my friends and I left town to go out to the middle of the desert.
New Years Eve of the year 2000 was a pivotal time for me. I had recently parted ways with my bands, which were like family, and was out in a new direction in music and in life.
I had been going out to some underground dance parties, “raves” as they might have been called.
That night as we were listening to music around the campfire, I started to find my flow…
I had been practicing a dance style known as “liquid” when all of the sudden, I started to float above my body! My body kept dancing, even better than I ever had before! And I could look down at it, but it seemed to be dancing by itself!
Even when my foot slipped in the sand, it turned into a graceful spin!
If I tripped, it would become a cool new move I had never done before!
I could literally do no wrong!
I then heard a wise sounding voice tell me that, “This experience is ‘FLOW.’ You will write a book about this and bring the experience of flow to all areas of your life. (Mind Flow – Body Flow – Spirit Flow – Social Flow – Cash Flow)” I was deeply impacted by the experience.
(Now, was it really “God” that spoke to me? Or was I abducted by aliens? Or was I hallucinating? I’ll let you decide…)
As I floated back down into my body, I remembered the experience vividly and I told my friends, but they thought I was crazy.
I sat watching the fire, reflecting on what had just happened.
Then, out of nowhere, a tumbleweed rolled by, hit the fire and caught fire before rolling along.
BEHOLD! A BURNING BUSH!!!
Wow, what a coincidence. I really must be crazy, lol.
But the experience stuck with me, and since I knew nothing about writing a book, I started journaling.
I wrote down everything that seemed to connect to the experience of flowing.
Revelations, epiphanies, coincidences, serendipities, de-ja-vu, ah-ha moments, deep thoughts, ponderings.
Then, in 2013, I got the strong urge to publish my first book.
I wanted to try to share one powerful idea that could maybe have impact on someone ‘out there.’
I published the first book in the Find Your Flow® book series, and it hit #1 in its category! I couldn’t believe it!
It seemed like overnight I had become a #1 Best Selling Author!
So I kept writing, and kept publishing books, and had multiple #1 best sellers.

Then, I felt the calling to invite other people to share their stories.
So I invited some friends to contribute a chapter to the next book, and it was a huge success!
People who had never been published were sharing their life-changing, inspirational stories with the world!
Over the years I’ve since published dozens of authors who have shared their stories to help bring positivity and inspiration to the world!
I then felt called to create a challenge for people to share their stories, as fun and easily as possible.
(My secret goal is to eventually publish one new book a week!)
It’s kind of a crazy big goal, but, we’ll see, this has been an amazing journey and I’m enjoying the ride!
Maybe YOU want to be a published author and inspire people someday?
If so, maybe you should check out the challenge and see when the next one is… go to https://findyourflow.com/get-published-challenge to learn more.
Until next time my friend…be flowing!
