Boston Marathon

Happy Easter weekend, I hope yours was great!

Back into the week.  Got some planning I’m about to do.  Have my first after school band rehearsal today, we should have about 4-5 kids, I’m pretty excited.

But the other big news was the Boston Marathon.  They just did it yesterday, one year after the horrible occurrence at last year’s event.   Everyone is so brave to have been a part of that.  Its really inspiring that the effort was made to keep it safe and that people came out and participated.

The winner Meb Keflezighi ran 26.2 miles with an official time of 2:08:37!!!  That’s insanely fast!

The women’s winner, Kenya’s Rita Jeptoo won for the second year straight!

Of course, the bombing last year had to be in the back of everyone’s minds.

But fortunately, the will of the people overwhelmed any fear and they made it happen…

My heart goes out to everyone who lost someone in last year’s tragedy or who were affected by it.  And much respect to those who participated in this year’s marathon as a runner or coordinator or spectator.
