As a white belt I bought this mat which I still have and use regularly.? It is nice because I can easily move it from the garage/studio/dojo to the living room for stretching in the evening.? It is SUPER durable yet still comfortable to lay on.? I love it.? I’ve now had it 6 years and it is in near perfect condition.? If they make bigger ones I may get those for my next round of mats.

But as I hit blue belt and realized that I really am going to be doing this jiu-jitsu thing for the rest of my life I decided that I can invest in more mats to spend more time on the ground.
I don’t know about you, but there is something magical about just being on the ground.
So then my second year in BJJ I got the small version of this;

Then a year later I got the larger version. I wish I had just got the larger version for the first one but oh well, live and learn.
They are nice and soft and squishy but not too squishy. They aren’t made for rolling hard. Easy flow rolls and stretching and drills.? I babied them and they have lasted me about 4-5 years so far.? One is starting to lose it’s outside material.? But overall I love them.? When I need to replace them i may go with something more durable.? Especially because my kids are getting older.? Right now, my oldest is 8 years old and he still plays too dang rough with the 3 year old so whenever the little guy’s head bounces off the mat I’m glad it’s kinda squishy.? HOPEFULLY Bradley will mellow a bit, but either way I may go for a heavier, firmer mat next time, check back, I’ll keep you updated.? Here is the link if you want to get the ones I use in the videos and at home: BJJ Mats?
